Our History

Grupo Tracsa’s growth history unfolds through the diversification of its business units, evolving over the years into independent companies united by a common purpose and shared successes.

1974

Grupo Tracsa’s history began with the establishment of Tracsa Cat®, an authorized Caterpillar® dealer that initially operated with four branches in Mexico’s Midwest region. The company served the construction, agriculture, and mining sectors, offering sales and rental solutions for new and used machinery, as well as spare parts and service support.

This initial milestone laid the foundation for future expansions, positioning Tracsa Cat as a market leader, as evidenced by the opening of new branches in San Luis Potosi (1978), Tepic (1980), and Morelia (1981).

1989

The first internal division of Tracsa Cat was formed: Tracsa Industrial, which focused on the sale of new and used material handling equipment, as well as related spare parts, service, and rental fleet.

This new focus marked the first internal restructuring, which would enable the company to expand further in the following years.

1992

Alongside the expansion of Tracsa Cat, the second business unit of Grupo Tracsa was founded this year: Transmac, which is today known as Trensa®. It began operations with a fleet of 4 tractors and 6 trailers, primarily addressing the Group’s transportation needs.

1997

Tracsa Cat established another division with the launch of Tracsa – The Cat® Rental Store, initially called T-Renta. Focused on offering rental and sales solutions for light construction equipment, as well as generators, platforms, and mobile offices, this business unit quickly gained market presence and opened its first branch in Puerto Vallarta in 2000.
