Today, at Grupo Tracsa, we celebrate 50 years of history. With the purpose of “We build a better future with solutions that generate trust“, we reach half a century with thirteen consolidated companies across various sectors, a workforce of over 3,600 employees, and more than 70 distribution points in Mexico, Guatemala, and Belize.
It was also on Tuesday, July 9, but in 1974, when Tracsa Cat®, our first company, was established through the acquisition of the assets of the Caterpillar® dealer that was then operating in the nine states of West Central Mexico with around 300 employees in four branches that offered the territory machinery, spare parts and services for the construction industry. Over the following decades, Tracsa Cat gradually expanded its operations into the transportation, mining and power generation sectors, while adding new branches in the region.
In 1989, Grupo Tracsa embarked on a new phase of diversification and territorial expansion through the creation of additional business units beyond Tracsa Cat. These new units introduced comprehensive solutions to our portfolio for industries like manufacturing and port logistics, agriculture, light construction, crushing, lifting, concrete, asphalt, drilling, foundations, lubrication, vocational and long-distance transportation, insurance, financing, welding, electromobility, and industrial digital connectivity.

The journey, however, has been far from easy. We have successfully executed this diversification strategy despite the challenges we faced in the past, including the various economic crises that have hit Mexico in recent decades. Our financial and organizational strength has been key tools for our continued growth. Our excellence as a distributor has been recognized globally for decades by leading suppliers in their respective industries, which is also reflected in the trust we have built with our customers.
In this context, technological transformation, both internally and externally, is one of our top priorities. Each company within Grupo Tracsa is committed to leveraging technology to maximize operational efficiency, improve customer service, and introduce innovative solutions that enhance profitability for our clients.
We plan to continue expanding our existing operations by developing talent, technology, and infrastructure, as well as betting on innovation to create more value for our customers.
